How to Achieve Wedding Ready Skin

Let’s be real—weddings are stressful, time consuming, and you’re left making so many decisions that at the end of the day I’ve noticed brides start to lessen their self-care routines in attempt to balance their lives—HUGE MISTAKE! Now is the time to be caring for your skin and body so you can can truly feel good on your wedding day, not worrying about the zit that popped up because you indulged in sugar while you were stressing about whether the napkins should be pink, or blue. Never-the-less, I’m here to offer a few tips on self care and a magic beauty routine to lower cortisol levels, and leave your skin fresh for your wedding day.

  • WASH YOUR FACE! Start today—Morning and night with a gentle sulfate-free formula to rid you of that ick on your face. Ladies, if you wear make up...wash it twice. My favorite is Earth Tu face.- Palmrosa+Aloe

  • EXFOLIATE- 3x’s a week with a gentle exfoliant. you have to get rid of those dead skin cells if you want to glow like a goddess. I love Stone Crop Fizzafoliant by Eminence.

  • SERUM- Vitamin C serums are great for everyone. They brighten the skin, induce healing through its antioxidant power, and exfoliates promoting collagen. Use it once a day before your moisturizer. My favorite is Phyto-Brightening Serum by Blissoma.

  • MOISTURIZE—No seriously...even if you’re oily. When the skin is too dry it over produces oil and  leaves the skin unbalanced, or even worse, when it’s just too dry and doesn’t produce oil at all, it feels like your skin could crack to smithereens. For oily skin I love Awake-Morning Firming Facial Moisturizer and for dry skin I love Lift-Intelligent-Energy cremé by Blissoma.

  • MASK- Masks are incredibly important to give a mega-boost of nutrients, balance the skin, hydrate, and brighten. I encourage you to do this immediately after exfoliating.  My favorites are.. Honey Potion by Farmacy, and Lavish- Loving Recovery Beta-Glucan Mask by Blissoma.

  • HYDRATE—get yourself a 33oz water bottle and make yourself drink it. Your skin, hair, organs, and joints will thank you. I’m not saying no coffee here, ok?—just more water!

  • MEDITATE- I find unwinding with the app Headspace helps me have that inner glow I’m looking to achieve. Amidst the hustle of wedding planning allow yourself a few minutes to find awareness.

  • NUTRITION- Take your vitamins (fish oil is great for the skin), and drink your greens. A green smoothie a day will help you ingest a large amount of nutrients that directly support skin— Here is a recipe. Drink Up!

Ok! those are my basic skincare/self-care steps that I know will 100% help you to achieve your skincare and make up goals on your wedding day. Of course, booking a facial is your best bet in getting ultimate results, but if you can’t or don’t have the time, these steps are a sure fire way to get serious results!
